Twitter社自身の発表によると、プログラムのバグにより、ヘルプ欄からTwitterのユーザーの国番号やアカウントのロックの有無が漏れる状態であったという。それを利用して、中国とサウジアラビアのIPアドレスから大量の問い合わせが行われたという。これは「国家に支援された主体」が絡んでいるという。

The bug - discovered on 15 November and fixed the day after - could have revealed the country code of users' phone numbers or if their account was locked, the company said.
